Messaging in the patient web portal

From the messaging section of the patient web portal, patients will be able to view their conversations with your clinic, reply to existing conversations, create new conversations, and send message attachments. Please read below to find out more about the patient experience when messaging from the patient web portal.

Viewing messages

To view messages via Salve's Patient Web Portal patients will need to:

  1. Go to https://patientwebportal.salvehealth.com and enter their email and password to log in
  2. Once logged in, they will need to click on the Messages menu option in the navigation bar

Once they have landed on the Messages section, they will be able to view all of the conversations they have with the clinic.

Opening a conversation

To open a conversation and view the messages that have been sent, patients will need to click on the conversation they wish to read to bring the chat onto their screen.

Sending a message

To send a message into an existing conversation, patients will click into the message box, write the message they wish to send, and click on the send button!

Sending message attachments

If patients would like to send files and/or images as a message to the clinic, they will need to click on the paperclip icon in the message box to bring up their file picker. Once they have selected the files/images they would like to send, they will appear as message attachments in the message box.

Starting a new conversation

To start a new conversation with the clinic, patients will click on the compose button at the bottom of the inbox.

Clicking on this compose button will bring up the new conversation pop-up, where patients can select the message category for their query, enter the message they wish to send to the clinic and attach any files and/or images.

When they're ready to send their message, they just need to click on the send button and a new conversation will appear for them and the clinic.
